Privacy Policy

The app may access the following on your device solely to provide its features:

• Camera: Used for file uploads within the college portal (e.g. profile photos, document uploads). Photos are not transmitted to any server other than the college portal you are using.
• Location (GPS): Used only when the college website requests it for location-based services. Never tracked in the background.
• Storage: Required to save downloaded files (forms, PDFs, documents) to your device.
• Microphone: May be used if the college portal includes audio/video features.
• Internet: Used to load content from hcdg.rkcfinsolutions.com and related college portals.
• Login credentials: Saved locally on your device by Android's autofill system. We do not store passwords on our servers.

• INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Loads the college website and portal content.
• CAMERA — Allows file upload dialogs to include the camera option (e.g. uploading a document photo).
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / COARSE_LOCATION — Only activated when the college website requests your location. Not used for background tracking.
• READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — Saves downloaded files (PDFs, forms) to your device. Required on Android 9 and below.
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / VIDEO / AUDIO — Android 13+ equivalent of storage permission for file uploads.
• RECORD_AUDIO — May be requested if the portal uses audio features (e.g. virtual classes).
• USE_CREDENTIALS / ACCOUNT_MANAGER — Allows Android's credential system to remember login details for the portal.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Enables download completion notifications.
• VIBRATE — Used for notification vibration.

The app enables Android's built-in autofill and WebView form-saving features so you can stay logged in to the college ERP and portal without re-entering credentials every time.

• Login sessions are saved as cookies locally on your device
• Passwords may be saved by Android's system autofill (Google Password Manager or your device's password manager)
• We do not have access to your saved passwords — they are managed entirely by Android and your chosen password manager
• You can clear saved data at any time via Settings → Apps → HCDG College → Clear Data

The app loads content from the following domains:

• hcdg.rkcfinsolutions.com — Main college app portal
• hcdgcollege.org — Official college website
• erp.hcdgcollege.org — College ERP system
• hcdgcdigitallibrary.in — Digital library

When you access these services, their own privacy policies apply. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, or any third-party advertising networks in this app.

This app uses Google Play In-App Updates (Play Core library) to deliver mandatory app updates. Google's privacy policy applies to this service.

All downloaded files are stored locally on your device in the Downloads folder. Session cookies are stored in the app's private storage.

All communication between the app and college servers uses HTTPS encryption. We take reasonable precautions to protect data in transit.

This app is intended for students (18+), faculty, and staff of Hem Chandra Dev Goswami College. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

You can manage your data at any time:

• Revoke any permission via Settings → Apps → HCDG College → Permissions
• Clear cookies and saved sessions via Settings → Apps → HCDG College → Clear Data
• Delete downloaded files from the Downloads folder on your device
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored app data

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
